ROLE-FIT STARTING POINTS

Choose by Role

Straightforward Defense

Start with Mercenary Sword & Shield. It gives a readable melee foundation built around active blocking, parrying, and controlled attacks. It is a practical beginner direction, not an official best-class award.

Trio Support

Start with Seer Reverent. Its job is sustaining and protecting allies while using positioning and control. Choose it when team value matters more than topping a damage list.

Ranged Spellcasting

Start with Sorcerer. Elemental and Stardust reward players who can manage spacing, energy, reactions, and safe cast windows. The official launch notes describe a steeper learning curve.

Heavy Melee

Start with Withered Knight. Greatsword is the direct offensive path. Polearm & Shield trades simplicity for reach, active defense, charges, and teammate protection.

Precision Range

Start with Blackarrow. Pick it when free-aim, sightlines, fully drawn shots, and ailment-arrow management sound enjoyable. Missed shots and melee pressure are part of the learning cost.

Mobile Melee

Start with Shadowstrix. It rewards target selection, stealth entry, repeated hits, pursuit, and a planned escape when the opener fails. Its longer action chains demand more simultaneous management.
