A co-op squad supports two to three players. Platform listings separately describe online multiplayer for up to fifteen players. Those are different layers: 15 is not the co-op squad size.

OFFICIAL PLAYER COUNTS
Xbox lists online co-op for two to three players. Current product descriptions explain that a full hunting squad has three members: the player plus two teammates. A party can therefore begin with two under the platform capability listing.
Xbox and PlayStation separately list online multiplayer for up to fifteen players. This is the platform-listed online match capacity. It does not make every other player a teammate and does not guarantee every run contains fifteen human players.
Mistfall Hunter is PvPvE. Other groups in the same run can be rival hunting parties. Official fair-play rules also distinguish a real squad from deliberate out-of-squad teaming used to gain an unfair advantage. Meeting another player in the same area does not create a larger legal co-op party.
TWO-PLAYER BOUNDARY
The current Xbox capability listing supports a two-player co-op group. That does not confirm a dedicated duo-only queue. A July 10 developer response said a separate Duo matchmaking pool was not planned in the short term because another queue would affect balance and split the player population. No later official release note reviewed here announces a dedicated Duo queue.
The current release menu for random fill, fill-off, private parties, party ownership, voice chat, revives, reconnects, and the human-versus-AI population was not fully verified. This page therefore does not invent those controls. Use the live client’s current labels when forming the party.
